Christmas Events and Holidays

There have been lots of things going on recently at school – have a look here to find out more!

Toy and Book Sale

Last week on the 12th of December there was a toy and book sale.  We were stall people.  We were crowded with lots of people.  We raised £30.85 we were happy about that.  The people were called Anna Askew, Roslyn, Abbie, Kay Leigh, Lauren S, James, Gavin, Daniel, Rebecca, Callum J, Brion and Amy.  After that we were allowed to buy some toys.  People were going to other stalls like p7/1 there were nice toys.  The little ones went at 1.30. we went at 2.15 p.m. We were trying to raise money for Unicef and Save the Children. All the teachers thought we did very well!

Cinema Trip

Hi, this is Carron and Daniel from Dingwall Primary –tomorrow the 19th of December we are going to the cinema on our school trip. We are going to watch Mr Magorium’s wonder Emporium. We had to pay £5.50 and bring in a permission slip or Mrs Mackay would not be allowed to take us. There is an advert for the film and it looks very funny. You are not allowed to take fizzy drinks or crisps or you will get into trouble. Watch this space to see our review coming soon!

Christmas PartyThe Christmas party is when we all get to play games like pass the parcel, musical statues and corners. We get to have some snacks and then we go back to play some more games. Then we go back to class and it is home time.Fiona and Emma.

Here is a review of the party by Callen, Grigor and Chloe -

Yesterday (Monday), we had our Christmas party. Everyone got dressed up and we really enjoyed dancing and playing games. Guess who won  – Callen!

“It was so scary for me at pass the parcel. The circle was getting smaller and smaller and faster!”

We were dancing with boys and girls it was great – then we had some food which was delicious.

Christmas Posties

Anna R, Carron, sophie, Zara and Zoe – we wereall Christmas posties, Mrs MacHardy picked us from our class. We went to the letter boxes – there were three altogether. We emptied them allthen wetook all the letters to Mrs McHardy’s room. Then we sorted them all into different classes, finally we delivered them. We had to wear a special uniform- hats with tinsel and a yellow jacket jacket. When we were finished Mrs MacHardy told us that we could get a house point and a cracker. dawn came roundwith us- she waswearing an elf’s hat which madea noise andwewereall shouting at her to switch it off!!!! We all enjoyed being posties and wewould liketo do it again!!!

Last week at our assembly Mr Macrae said we had to remember Jesus at Christmas time so we decided to write about Christians and how they celebrate Christmas – here is our article.

 Christmas Christians

Jesus is older than everyone in the world. Christians celebrate Jesus because he was born at Christmas time. That is also when Santa comes when we are fast asleep. Jesus is God’s son and God is Jesus’ father.  Santa gives us presents all over the world and that must give Santa hard work and Santa comes on December the 24th and that is Christmas Eve. Santa has reindeers and he rides on his sleigh. He climbs down the chimney because he doesn’t have keys and he lives at the North Pole and he has some little elves. They help Santa to make presents for everyone in the world. Christians believe in God because he knows everything all over the world. Because he is the Lord he wants to watch everyone to see if they are bad or good.

Then everyone screamed Happy New Year! And people came round to say happy New Year to everyone. We stayed up until one 1 o’clock in the morning! Then we went to bed but I didn’t feel tired at all but in two seconds I was fast asleep! We got up on New Year’s Day of 2008 it was the first 2008 day that we were celebrating!!
