The Battle of Marathon
The city of Athens are very small city. Athens had no King or Queen.
They have a very small army. The Persians decided that they want the Athens to belong to them. When the Athenians heard about it they were very scared. They hoped that the city of Sparta would help them but they refused. Sparta army are very strong and powerful soldier. The Spartan was worried that Pan might get angry to them if they went to war. They prayed to him instead and promised to help Athenians. One of the generals came up an idea to beat Persians. The next morning a war started the general managed to confuse the Persians army. When the Persians army was so worried and confused, Pan sends the disease of panic. The Persians was easily defeated. One of the Athenians army run all the way to Athens. But he didn’t make it. He collapsed because of exhausted he just say “Nike” in Greeks it means Victory. Then the poor guy died.
