Send My Friend To School

Last week at assembly the P7s told us about a campaign to raise awareness about children in the world who do not have the right to go to school. Here is what Scott, Zara and Daniel have to tell about it.

72 million children do not go to school and a lot of them have to work instead. They do work like grinding seeds and building things and carrying things. We only get work at school like drawing and painting and some of the children are homeless. That means they do not live in a house. We coloured in some pictures of children to hang up in our class and we are going to send them to Gordon Brown the Prime Minister. They are to remind everyone about the children who cannot go to school. They miss out on lots of things we do like soports - football, hockey, shinty and other games too. Watch this space for photos of our display coming soon!Let us know what you think.

On Tuesday we were drawing send my friend to school cards so we could show the children how much we want them to go to school. We want them to go so that they can learn to read, write and do maths.

Zara, Fiona and Roslyn looked on the internet to find stuff out about the campaign. We told everyone to draw all the things we would miss if we did not go to school.Zara drew one that was similar to a design on the webpage and it is really nice. Some of us finished on Wednesday but some of us are still to finish.Mrs Lemmon has hung them up in our classroom as a kind of mobile and they look really nice.We are going to take nice photos of them once they are all done and put them on the blog so that you can all see them.
